not sure if i really like the mascot or the idea of how simple this blogging platform is. there's been a push for very bare-boned blog uis like:

• micros.blog
• smol.pub
• bear blog

these are simple with some body of text, no background decor, and maybe a comment section and some kind of rss feed.

on the otherhand are more fuller blog uis like:

• substack
• medium
• wordpress

but those comes with their caveats like cms bullshit or ads or bloat which spurred the creation of those mentioned earlier.

well, i present to you pika, a nice in-between of those two where it's kind of nicely laid out. and no need for markdown or html like notion or other tools (and they're not even blogging platforms; they have other features and shit for financial incentives). you just write like if it was a google doc (or ms words) and publish the post.

easy like that and the team behind it, good enough, made it clear to not make it anymore than what it is. a project just cuz rather than a growing financial source for the team.

it's so nice to see how things are blossoming in the blogging world and while i prefer doing my site in a way where i can learn web stuff, i wouldn't be un-opposed to checking out pika.

• will add more as i find cool sites for myself and hopefully you, the reader, to check out
